At the Embassy of Ukraine in France (Paris), the Agreement on the Consular Functions of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Nice was signed. The document was signed on behalf of Ukraine by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to France, Vadym Omelchenko.
The candidacy of Iryna Podyryako-Bourdelles was supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in France and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and approved by the French Republic.
This appointment represents an important step for the Ukrainian community in the South of France, providing additional opportunities to represent Ukraine’s interests.
The main responsibilities of the Honorary Consul include:
- protecting the interests of Ukraine, its citizens, and legal entities in France;
- promoting the development of trade, economic, cultural, and scientific ties;
- supporting the development of friendly relations between Ukraine and France.
The consular district covers four departments: Alpes-Maritimes, Var, Hautes-Alpes, and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
The Honorary Consul does not perform consular acts, which continue to be carried out exclusively by the Embassy of Ukraine in France or during mobile consular services.
The work of the Honorary Consul is carried out on a voluntary basis.
The appointment of Iryna Podyryako-Bourdelles is an important step in strengthening the voice of the Ukrainian community in the South of France and in promoting Ukrainian-French cooperation.
